This work kitchen provides a space where you can prepare ingredients, cook, plate dishes, and clean up without disrupting the experience of those in the living room or dining room.
It can also improve the day-to-day use of the home. Small appliances, groceries, packaging, and dishes waiting to be put away no longer clutter the main kitchen. Noise, odors, and less visually appealing tasks are concentrated in an area designed specifically for that purpose.

Depending on the household’s daily routines, they may include a spacious countertop, sink, dishwasher, second refrigerator, freezer, small appliances, and storage for food, dishes, and glassware. They may also feature a coffee, breakfast, or beverage preparation area.

Routes Designed for Commuting and Social Life
Location is just as important as the equipment. The back kitchen should be logically connected to the main kitchen, the dining room, and the outdoor areas. It can also be connected to the service entrance, the delivery entrance, or a separate pantry.
In open-concept layouts, the access point can be integrated into a cabinet front to maintain visual continuity. A hidden door keeps the working kitchen nearby but out of the guests’ line of sight.
Planning these routes from the outset prevents unnecessary travel and allows the service to operate without constantly crossing through common areas.
